Eighth-Inch Scale

This is also known as 1/8 inch, or 1/8" paper. If you want to keep your floor plan in 1/4" scale, you can also use this size, just count every two boxes (instead of every one box).

One box is one eighth-inch long.

Five Millimeter Scale

This is the metric measurement that is useful for floor plans that need to be drafted in metric units. Since a millimeter is so small and hard to see, you can use five millimeters for your scale.

One box is five millimeters long.
